Unit Colors Program

The Army Engineer Association (AEA) sponsors the Engineer Unit, USACE District, and Division Colors Program to commemorate and honor the accomplishments of engineer units and organizations in defense of and nation-building support to the United States and its allies. The program includes sponsoring unit colors to be hung from the ceiling of the Engineer Regimental Room in the Museum at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

Looking forward to the upcoming 250th Anniversary of the US Army Engineer Regiment, AEA seeks to enhance the Engineer Regimental Room in by increasing the numbers of units represented within the heart of the Engineer Regiment. AEA has developed a supplier capable of producing unit specific colors for all Engineer BNS and above Units.

The US Army Institute of Heraldry has specific unit images for many but not all engineer units. The
standard color layout consists of the Red Colored flag with the American Eagle. The Colors contains the Unit
Coat of Arms, The unit DUI ( or unit crest) along with unit motto and designation of the unit on the appropriate
banner. This link is helpful in reviewing material on files for Engineer Units. https://tioh.army.mil/Catalog/

concurrence before sending off for production.

For a $650 fee, AEA will contract the construction of a specific unit colors and arrange for the display of those colors in the Engineer Regimental Room at FLW, MO.

Unit Recognition Program

The Army Engineer Association (AEA) sponsors the Engineer Unit Recognition Program to commemorate and honor the accomplishments of engineer units and organizations in defense of, and nation-building support to, the United States and its allies.

The program includes providing a single, distinctive unit recognition plaque (deep-etched magnesium on a wood backing) of an approximate maximum size of 18(w) x 24(h) inches to be displayed in a special place of honor in the Engineer Regimental Room in the Museum at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. In addition, a single miniature version of the plaque is provided to the sponsoring unit or reunion group to present or display as they wish and to use as a sample for others to purchase.

To become qualified for recognition as an AEA Engineer Unit Member, tax-exempt contributions to the AEA must be made in the name of the specific unit, totaling a minimum of $2500 or more.

Many plaques design now exceed the historical $2500 fee. The final quote for a plaque can often be $3000, based on the unit’s desires and the cost of production. A final fee can only be quoted once our supplier reviews the final design. This amount may be made by an individual or through the accumulated contributions of several individuals in varying amounts. These contributed funds are used to administer the program and pay for the plaques' manufacture. Funds may be contributed over time until the required minimum amount is obtained. If the fund-raising unit/organization desires, the AEA Executive Office will establish a record of account for funds as they are accumulated.
