Senior Technical Production Specialist
Description
This position is primarily responsible for project production, scheduling, monitoring and reporting for airborne topo-bathymetric lidar projects. The chosen individual will be a core member of our office technical and production teams.
Responsibilities
- Planning office production operations, overseeing office personnel daily tasking, and providing QA/QC of geospatial data (bathymetric and topographic lidar, sonar, GPS, GNSS, etc.)
- Executing and coordinating project’s processing plans, data deliverables and data quality
- Verify, validate, analyze and research geospatial data
- Drive processing workflow designs and software improvements
- Testing of design improvements of internal and external software packages and processes
- Calibrate and control survey data to projections and datums per project specifications
- Prepare or supervise the preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys
- Preparing reports and simulations
- Quality control and production tracking including preparing daily and weekly production reports
- Supervising and ensuring the care of office hardware and software
- Coordinate findings with the work of engineering and technical personnel, clients, and others
- Duties include light travel mainly to technical conferences and meetings, limited project travel.
Qualifications
- NSPS/ACSM Certified Hydrographer, Category A Hydrographer, or Professional Land Surveyor candidates will be viewed favorably
- A degree in a geomatics related field (hydrography, surveying, or engineering) and a minimum of 15 years applied geospatial field experience, or an applicable master’s degree and 10 years’ experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain active secret security clearance is highly desirable, but not required
- Candidate must have a working knowledge of hydrographic data acquisition systems including Airborne Bathymetric Lidar, Multibeam Sonars, Single-beam Sonars, Side Scan Sonars, and GNSS navigation systems.
- Experience using bathymetric process software packages which include HydroFusion, PFMABE, Caris, Qimera, and Global Mapper, QINSy, HYPACK, Edgetech Discover, SonarWiz, Microstation, LSS
- Knowledge of AutoCAD or GIS a plus
- Knowledge of mobilizing third party vessels from the bottom up a plus
- Must be a US citizen
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment background check, verification and drug screen process
