Palmetto Chapter of South Carolina

The Palmetto Chapter held its annual Castle Rally on 16 August 2014 in Columbia, SC. More than 300 members and guests attended the event and heard General Frank Grass, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, deliver a message about the relevancy of the Army National Guard. Sverdrup

The MG Leif J. Sverdrup Chapter serves the Fort Leonard Wood Engineer community with these fundamental purposes:

  • Fostering appreciation for and study of the history and traditions of the U.S. Army Engineers.
  • Assisting in raising and maintaining the esprit de corps of all members of the Army Engineers, military and civilian, through educational and charitable activities.
  • Providing educational opportunities for individuals and support scholarly research.
  • Conducting operations exclusive for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes.

The MG Leif J. Sverdrup Chapter conducts several reoccurring events allow the means to do so.

  • The Sverdrup Chapter conducts a Round Up open to all Army Engineers — enlisted, non-commissioned officers, officers, and civilians — generally on the last Wednesday of each month from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm and provides an opportunity to socialize with those in attendance which may include senior members of the Engineer Regiment.
  • Annually, the Sverdrup Chapter sponsors the Heroes and Villains 5K at Fort Leonard Wood in late spring.
  • Each October, members of the Army Engineer community are challenged to come out and participate in the â��Sapper Triviaâ�� event during the Round Up.
  • Quarterly the Sverdrup Chapter assists in the coordination and execution of the Senior Leaders Breakfast, an AEA National funded event.
